Student's says school shooter knocked on class doors impersonating sheriff

A 15-year-old boy is in custody after a school shooting claimed the lives of 3 people and injured another 8 at a high school in Oxford, Michigan.

The Oxford High School students killed were Tate Myre, 16; Hanna St. Julian, 14, and Madisyn Baldwin, 17, according to Oakland County Sheriff Michael Bouchard. 7 students and 1 teacher were also shot during the tragedy.

The shooting happened just before 1pm as the sophomore gunman opened fire with a semi-automatic hand. Police responded within 5 minutes of the first gun shots and were able to apprehend him without incident.

Students are reporting and sharing video of what they claim is the shooter pretending to be a sheriff's officer in order to lure out students.

"Sheriff's office. You can come out," a voice says as students question if they should go out. "We're not willing to take that risk right now," one student replies. The alleged gunman is then heard saying "bro," which is when the kids to realize it's the shooter, and they start jumping out a window.

The principal immediately gave the codeword over the schools intercom for students to lockdown. Shortly after students heard gunshots. Of those injured, 3 are currently in critical condition with gunshot wounds. One is a 14-year-old girl who is on a ventilator after having surgery. Another is a 14-year-old boy in serious condition with a gunshot wound to the jaw and head, per police. Three additional students are in stable condition. The teacher who was shot has been discharged. Sending our thoughts and prayers to the families and students in Oxford.
