French Montana Accused of Stealing Lyric

The rapper from the 1990s group Hot Boys – which also included Lil Wayne, BG, and Juvenile – says that French borrowed his lyrics from his 1999 hit, “I Need a Hot Girl” without permission for his song, “Handstand,” with Doja Cat and Saweetie. In French's song, Doja Cat and Saweetie join him to sing, “I need a project b—h, a hood rat b—h. One don't give a f—k and say she took that d—k.” These are close to the exact lyrics Turk claims he wrote and performed in the throwback song. According to a source with direct knowledge, French bought the beat and the hook with the understanding all was clear. Clearly, there was some kind of confusion, but French's team is already working to rectify the situation. Since Turk's attorney says they're willing to settle out of court, the situation should be resolved soon.
