Busta Rhymes is back with a star-studded new album, Extinction Level Event 2: The Wrath of God.
The sequel comes 22 years after the release of the first Extinction Level Event record and eight years after Busta's last full-length effort, Year of the Dragon. Given the time between projects, Busta made sure the LP was worth the wait, tapping into his diverse network and getting appearances from Mariah Carey, Chris Rock, Mary J. Blige, Kendrick Lamar, Rakim, Ol' Dirty Bastard, Pete Rock, M.O.P., Q-Tip, Rick Ross, Rapsody, Anderson .Paak, Vybz Kartel and more.
Extinction Level Event 2 marks Busta's 10th studio album and it further solidifies his title has one of the all-time greats in hip hop.
Ahead of the release of the project, Busta revealed that he's not only been in the studio in 2020, but he's also been in the gym. "DON’T EVER GIVE UP ON YOURSELF!! LIFE BEGINS RIGHT NOW!!! MY DEDICATION IS DIFFERENT," he captioned a before and after photo of himself showing off his major weight loss. "I WOULD NEVER PUT OUT AN ALBUM AND NOT BE IN THE BEST SHAPE OF MY LIFE!! I RESPECT MYSELF TOO MUCH AND I RESPECT Y’ALL TOO MUCH!! I’M ONLY HERE TO INSPIRE!!"
